SVG static VAr generator

A static VAr generator of the SVG series is an electronic equipment used to continuously adjust reactive power dynamically and bi-directionally (leading or lagging) and thus improving the power factor.

By using revolutionary power electronics technology, static reactive power (VAr) generators offer rapid, precise, and continuous reactive power by injecting into or absorbing reactive power from the grid, compensating for the reactive power demand of both inductive or capacitive loads.

Because of their fast response to load variations, static VAr generators have the ability to balance currents on the three phases and to ensure voltage stability in the electrical systems.

The static VAr generators of the SVG series are available in modules of various power ratings for both rack and wall installation.

HSVG hybrid system for active power factor correction

The HSVG hybrid system for active power factor correction combines the technological advantages of static VAr generators with the power of capacitor banks driven by contactors or thyristor switches.

Connected in parallel to the power supply of the load, the HSVG hybrid system provides a dynamic and controlled current source that can adapt in real time to the changes in the grid.

HSVG hybrid systems are able to simultaneously manage the steps of the capacitor banks providing the fundamental capacitive reactive power, and the dynamic power (both capacitive and inductive) provided by the integrated active systems.

The integration of the two technologies within the HSVG hybrid systems enables the simultaneous correction of reactive power, reduction of voltage fluctuations, flicker mitigation and phases unbalance in a single device.

The hybrid HSVG technology is extendable to all automatic power factor correction equipment from the portfolio of COMAR Condensatori.
